Yoga Therapy
I am a fully qualified Yoga Therapist specialising in neuropsychiatric and neurological conditions. I have an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from King’s College London and am completing a PhD in the psychoneuroimmunology of yoga nidra in chronic stress and depression at King’s.
Yoga Therapy is a contemporary evolution of yoga, informed by physiotherapy, somatics, counselling, psychology, neuroscience, anatomy, physiology, pathology and holistic medicine.
A client-centric therapy modality, where the therapist is an attentive and non-judgmental guide rather than The solution. It fosters clients’ independence: they are empowered to be the masters of their healing, promoting self-care, functional breathing and movement, and behavioural change. Goal-driven and subjectively measurable allows for accountability and enables the client to track progress.
Yoga Therapy is a complementary therapy, not a substitute for primary health care. Given complex conditions, it is best to consult your GP to assess whether the approach is suitable.
The first session runs for 90 minutes, comprised of:
Health Questionnaire Discussion
Goals and Priorities Setting
Postural, Breathing and Movement assessment
Guided Restorative Experience
Practice Co-Creation
Follow-up sessions last 60 min. During which we refine the home practice, review effects and revise goals/priorities. Clients often come with an emotion or episode they may work with somatically. Sessions can swing from counseling to movement and include visualisation and breathwork.
£90 for the first initial consultation (90-min)
£70 per follow-up sessions (60-min).
